Cricket
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Beversbrook lies a state of the art grass cricket square.
The outfield has under soil drainage to keep it drained during the wet months of the summer. To accommodate the high number of cricket fixtures, Calne Cricket Club has added a top of the range artificial cricket wicket giving the facility a lovely feel to play cricket in the Calne summer sun. To add to the cricket theme Calne Cricket Club has added a three cricket practise nets for club training and to develop their cricketing skills.
In April 2009, Beversbrook saw the first cricket ball bowled at the CricketForce weekend. Six teams from five different primary schools took part in Calne Cricket Club Kwik Festival. Special guest Hampshire and England Lions Player Liam Dawson was on hand to answer any questions and give out awards.
Finally, after three years of waiting Calne Cricket Club moved into Beversbrook for the 2011 cricket season and the first cricket ball was bowled on the grass wicket. The first friendly match was played on Sunday 10th April 2011 Calne 1st Vs Calne 2nd.
